Come and spend the day at Cromford and learn all about waterpower from 1750 to the present day. Starting at 11am join us for a close look at our modern waterwheel currently generating up to 25% of our electricity needs. A wonderful modern innovation on the site of Arkwright’s waterwheel. Meet some of the people who made this happen and find out how today’s waterpower works.
Enjoy a complementary tea or coffee in one of our cafes and then join our afternoon tour at 1pm. Learn about the history of waterpower on the site and how Richard Arkwright harnessed the power of water to revolutionise manufacturing and mass production.
